Works from artists who wish to participate in the third running of the Guayaquil International of Painting will be received until 7 pm next Monday, March 5.

All visual artists from the five continents can participate, using the theme “Elements of Nature”.

Each artist is allowed to submit up to two works, duly framed and ready for exhibition, not exceeding 150cm x 150cm, minimum 80cm x 60cm.  Furthermore, each work should be accompanied by a CV, information on the painting, a photo of the work and of the artist for the catalogue, museum records and the Press.

The rights of the winning works will become property of the Luis. A. Noboa Naranjo Museum, headquarters of the artistic competition.

Costs for packing and return shipment of the works will be the responsibility of the participating artists.  Express and National mail will not be accepted; only works sent directly to the museum offices will be accepted.

Works should be sent without price and declared without value, given they are for competition. Works not fulfilling the above-mentioned requisites will not be accepted.

The Luis A. Noboa Museum will not be responsible for damages to the works during their transport or exhibition, although every effort will be made to ensure the best care will be taken.

Prizes to be bestowed include the “Álvaro Noboa” Art Grand Acquisition Prize of $10,000; Second Acquisition Prize of $5,000; and five Newcomer Acquisition Prizes of $1,000 each.

The inauguration of the Biennial will be on April 5, during which event prizes will be given to the winning artists. The jury will include renowned visual artists and art critics, who will determine the admission of the work for the exhibition as well as the prizes for the best works.
