RULES OF THE VII INTERNATIONAL PAINTING BIENNIAL OF GUAYAQUIL
The Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum, summons national and foreign artists to participate in the VII International Painting Biennial of Guayaquil “ÁLVARO NOBOA PONTÓN” to take place on April 28, 2020, as a contribution of the institution, artists to art and world culture.
1. The theme is Love.
2. The VII Biennial is mainly aimed at the young painters of the world, although all visual artists can participate.
3. The following regulations shall govern for this purpose:
4. All national and foreign artists may participate.
5. The technique to be used will be Oil, Acrylic on canvas, with the theme: Love, the format should not exceed 1.50 x 1.50 and with a Minimum of 0.80 x 0.80.
6. The rights to the winning works will pass to the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum
7. The works must be accompanied by the basic data of the author, photographs of him and the participating works for publicity, press and Museum Archive, and may be sent Until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2020. They can also deliver them directly to the administration offices of the Museum located at P. Icaza 302 Y Córdova (Esq.) Edif. Seguros Cóndor 1st Floor, Guayaquil to Mrs. Frida Idrovo Sub- Director of the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum.
8. The artists will deliver to the museum offices a work duly framed and ready for exhibition.
9. The costs of packing and round-trip transportation of the works will be borne by the participating artist.
10. Works from abroad, whose author wants to send, must do so by a specialized mail and cargo transport company such as DHL, FEDERAL EXPRESS, UPS, or similar. With the instructions for its return, in case of not winning any of the acquisition prizes stipulated in article 12 of these regulations.
11. We will not accept express or national mail. The works must also come without price and declared worthless, since they come for a competition. Works that do not meet the aforementioned requirements will not be accepted. The Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum is not responsible for damages suffered by the works during their transport and exhibition, although it will use all the means at its disposal for their best care.
12. The following Acquisition prizes will be awarded:
• 1st Grand Acquisition Prize “Álvaro Noboa” 10,000 US dollars
• 2nd Acquisition Prize 3,000 US dollars
13. The prizes are indivisible and the awarded works will become part of the Museum’s collection.
14. The prizes will be awarded to the winning artists on the opening day, after reading the verdict.
15. The jury will be made up of renowned plastic artists and / or art critics and will be the same for admission as for awarding the works.
16. The decision of the jury will be final and the participating artists at the time of registering their works will accept in all its parts these regulations.
17. Each artist must collect the works, once the VII Biennial is over, at the Museum offices showing the document that was given to them upon receipt of the work.
18. The works not admitted must be withdrawn within 30 days after the inauguration and those that were admitted according to the provisions of paragraph 5 of these regulations, within the 15 days following the closing, in the Museum offices.
19. Any unforeseen event will be resolved by the Director of the Museum.
