III Biennial: “Alvaro Noboa”

National and International Artists have been invited to participate in the III Guayaquil International Biennial of Painting “Alvaro Noboa”, to take place from April 5 to May 5 of 2012 in the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum of Guayaquil.

The aim of the institution and the artists is to make a contribution to art and culture worldwide, stated the organizers.

The principal and only theme will be the elements of nature. Various prizes will be given. First Álvaro Noboa Grand Acquisition Prize:  $10,000; Second Acquisition Prize: $5,000; and 5 Biennial Newcomer Acquisition Prizes of $1,000 each.

Technique to be employed is oil or acrylic on canvas. Size should not exceed 150 cm x 150 cm with a minimum of 80 cm by 60 cm.

Rights to the prize-winning works will be ceded to the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum.

Works must be received by 7pm on 5 March 2012 to the Administrative Offices of the Museum, located at P. Icaza 302 and Córdova (corner) Seguros Cóndor Building, 1st floor, Guayaquil, to the attention of Frida Idobro, Administrator of the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum.

Artists may submit up to two framed and ready to exhibit works to the Museum offices. Artists will be responsible for costs. (AM)
