LANN Museum inaugurated the First International Photography Competition Álvaro Noboa Pontón with participants from the 5 continents
This January 28 took place the most important event of the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum, the First International Photography Competition Álvaro Noboa Pontón, where more than 200 photographers from the five continents participated for the first place.
Patricio Ruilova (Ecuador), Leonardo Ampuero (Chile), Harold Ferrer (Cuba), Begoña Lozano (Spain), Sergei Reboredo (Spain) and Corneliu Tofan (Romania) were the six semifinalists selected.
They disputed the first place of $ 3,000, won by the Spanish Begoña Lozano Mejuto with the picture named “Semana de Santa Loja (Cofrades de Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza).” The winner, who commented that she likes to catch the glances of people in her photos, said that this is the first time she wins an international competition and the taste for this art is owed to her husband.
Following her, the $ 2,000 prize was for the Cuban Harold Ferrer Pérez with his photographic piece “S / T.” While the third place, of $ 1,000, was for the artwork “La primera faena del 2015,” of the Ecuadorian Edson Ruilova Litume.
At the event, which started at about 19h30 and was led by Álvaro Noboa Pontón, Honorable Mentions were granted to Leonardo Ampuero with his picture “Acuarela,” Corneliu Tofan with “Genesi,” and Sergi Reboredo with “Memorias de África.” Additionally, the “Best Ancient Photography ” category was instituted with a $ 1000 prize, which was granted to the Ecuadorian Gina Garcia and herphoto “Transporte Urbano 1956.”

“Exhibitors from over 20 countries in photographic biennial”, was the title given by the national newspaper El Expreso, referring to the international acceptance of the Luis Noboa Naranjo museum for the Alvaro Noboa Photography Contest, to be held from January 28 to February 28.
The note unveiled the long list of photographers from different countries, who have registered for the contest. The note also refers to the expectation that has been generated by allowing the participation of both professionals and amateurs.
It is reminded that the contest will receive works until January 16th. During the following days, the works will be evaluated by an expert jury, is composed by Priscilla Parker, Chantal Fontaine, Fabian Peñaherrera, Eduardo Salvador and Alberto Coral.

On Thursday, May 29, a month after awarding the winners of one of the most important artistic events of Ecuador, the International Painting Biennial Alvaro Noboa -named so for the Ecuadoran businessman and philanthropist who gave life to the art initiative-, director of the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum, Attorney Pablo Martinez, held a soiree in honor of those who took part in the event of fine arts, in which each participant was awarded a certificate of recognition and a wonderful catalog that includes all artwork involved.
The III International Biennial of Painting Alvaro Noboa had the participation of the best local and foreign artists. Creatives and masters from different areas such as fashion, photography, and painting got united to produce an exquisite visual composition named “Forces of Nature“.
