The Fourth edition of the Biennial received over 260 works from artists from America, Europe and Asia. The curator in charge of this Biennial is Pepe Luque, a Bolivian painter with over five decades of experience, four of these living in Ecuador.

The theme for this year’s Biennial is the Bible. The curator said that artists had to conceive new concepts in the development of their paintings to address this theme.

The opening of the International Painting Biennial of Guayaquil `Alvaro Noboa´ will take place this April 30 at the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum. In the opening ceremony, the winners of the pictorial and poetic competitions will be awarded.
