The night of Thursday, November 12, the Luis Noboa Naranjo Museum was full of color with the exhibition of Maria de los Angeles Navarrete Azín. About 40 paintings were displayed, some painted during her stay at the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice.
Azín, as she signs her works, is an Italian-Ecuadorian artist who has painted since age 10, influenced by her Italian grandfather, Giorgio Azín. She catalogs her style as “Arte Povera,”an Italian term that means poor art, because she uses any element to create her works.
“She´s a woman with a great creativity and a great knowledge of art,” said businessman Alvaro Noboa, founder of Museum and uncle of the artist, during the opening ceremony.
